Located on Claypath our Durham City Shop stocks an array of donated goods to appeal to the city’s student population, tourists visiting throughout the year, and to the local community who live in the city, or travel in to the city to shop. Clothing, footwear, jewellery and accessories, along with home ware, china, books, with a selection of children’s toys/games.
All the money we raise through our shops goes directly towards funding patient care for people in County Durham with life-limiting illnesses. In addition to Durham City, St Cuthbert’s Hospice also operates retail shops in Crook, Langley Moor, Houghton le Spring, Spennymoor, Langley Park, Sacriston and Chester le Street Shop We also have a furniture and homeware outlet in Meadowfield.
We are always looking for people to join our friendly team and help out at our shops across County Durham. Volunteering can be weekly, fortnightly, monthly or much more occasional. As a volunteer you can share your skills, knowledge, time and friendship to support a worthy cause. You do not need retail experience to volunteer in our charity shops - if you are enthusiastic, reliable and willing to learn, please get in touch!
There may also be an opportunity for you to complete customer service and retail qualifications, if you wish, subject to eligibility.
