Japanese-speaking International Communication Representative

Job Spec:

Purpose of the Job: To undertake direct personal communication on behalf of our clients who work principally within the life sciences and biotech industries. You will conduct professional international calls, communicating complex information, raising product awareness and assessing the circumstances and requirements of prospective customers.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Conduct calls on behalf of our client(s) in order to generate high quality leads
  • Research contacts and consider their requirements prior to communication
  • Acquire, with training, good knowledge of product features and applications and be able to utilise this information efficiently within your communication
  • Understand the needs of the prospective customer and react accordingly
  • Maintain organised records of customer interactions
  • Support your colleagues and work as a team
  • Deliver a very high standard of quality and professionalism at all times

Skills and Qualifications:


  • Exceptional use and understanding of English as well as Japanese
  • Proficient use of Microsoft applications – in particular Word / Access / Excel

  • Educated to degree level
  • Additional language skills (native-level fluency is essential)
  • Scientific background – particularly Chemistry / Biology (educational or vocational)
  • Employing good coding practices
  • Working with Microsoft Access and Excel

Location: Durham City Centre 

The position is likely to start ASAP and we are intending to interview within the next 3 weeks. There is no deadline to apply but if you need one, you could state end of June 2018.

Rate of Pay: O.T.E £8.27 per hour (following a successful performance of 150 hours at £7.83 per hour)

Job Specification

Hours: Part time hours, Monday – Friday (6am-10am, and possibility to also work some hours between 9am and 9pm for English-speaking projects)
