Draw Durham!

Durham City

26.08.17 to 27.08.17

This Bank Holiday weekend Draw Durham will be inspiring creativity across Durham City with a range of fun artist-led drawing activities on Saturday 26th and Sunday 27th August 2017. Going beyond pencils and paper, Draw Durham will take a sideways look at what drawing can be, and how we use it.

Draw Durham is a Live InDurham initiative developed by Durham BID and Durham University with support from Durham County Council. The event is part of a North-East led programme exploring the role drawing plays in our lives through in art, architecture, design, illustration, education, science and engineering.

Visitors will have the chance to pick up an artist-designed map and follow a trail of ‘Drawing Stations’ around Durham City. Each Drawing Station will feature a different activity hosted by an artist, encouraging visitors to enjoy and experiment with drawing. Drawing Stations will be located at venues including Durham Market Place, Palace Green, Prince Bishops Shopping Centre, the Oriental Museum, and more. A photography exhibition in The Caravan Gallery will be located in Millennium Square. The internationally renowned gallery in a yellow caravan will inspire visitors to see the world in a whole new light.
