If you’re looking for information about the Christmas Lights Switch On 2018, please click here
As well as the Christmas Lights Switch On illuminating the City once more after Lumiere rolls out of town, the last weekend end November also sees the arrival of the Christmas Digital Trail across Durham.
Why not gather your family and friends, wrap up warm, and enjoy an afternoon of searching for Santa around the City? And while you’re there, why not take a stroll in some of the shops and pick up some Christmas presents, grab a bite to eat and enjoy a spot of festive fayre? There really is so much to see and do in Durham this Christmas…
The Christmas Digital Trail features six special posters that have been positioned across the City. Using a special app you download to your mobile phone called Zappar (compatible with android and iOS), you can take a photo of the poster featuring a special code which is read by the app. The scene then comes to life with different animated Christmas characters like reindeer, a snowman and of course Santa Claus, jumping into the shot and bringing the scene to life in a very merry way. You can even choose to be in the festive scene too, seeing the characters interact with you in a magical augmented reality world!
The Christmas Digital Trail will arrive in the City on Sunday 26th November – the same day as the Christmas Lights Switch On! There really is so much to see and do with a whole host of festive events planned as part of Christmas InDurham. Stay tuned to our website and social media channels for more details coming soon…
And don’t forget to bring your InDurham Loyalty Card with you when visiting the City this Christmas to get your hands on exclusive deals, discounts and special offers at participating businesses.
